Job summary

Read Better Be Better is seeking a part-time After-School Literacy Program Coach in Phoenix, AZ. You will guide a cohort of young Readers and Youth Leaders, facilitating engaging literacy activities after school.

Minimum requirement is a High School Diploma; preferred candidates are pursuing a related degree or have school-based experience. Expect 5–10 hours per week with 2 assigned school days and a weekly coordinator meeting.

Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
• Preferred candidates are enrolled in a relevant degree program (teaching, educational studies, youth & early childhood development, etc.) OR have experience working with children in a school setting.
• Classroom management skills and a patient personality are key components we look for in our Program Coaches.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate the literacy program and curriculum at after-school sites.
• Ensure curriculum progress and a safe, healthy learning environment.
• Attend weekly meeting with Program Coordinator and participate in professional development workshops.
• Program ends with a graduation event, and coaches may return semesterly.
