Job summary

San Jacinto College seeks an PT Admissions Advisor to manage a caseload of new students through the application process, advise on degree pathways, and ensure accurate admissions status updates. The role requires strong communication and data-entry accuracy within a fast-paced campus environment.

Responsibilities include guiding applicants through testing, orientation, transcripts, immunization, and FAFSA, plus coordinating with disability services, financial aid, tutoring, and other support

Qualifications

• Understanding of admissions procedures and requirements.
• Ability to advise on degree pathways and academic requirements.
• Knowledge of FERPA rules and educational data handling.
• Proven accuracy in records management and data entry.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and maintain frequent contact with advisees and manage caseload through application to registration.
• Advise prospective students and families about admissions, testing, orientation, transcripts, immunization, and FAFSA.
• Input immunization records, transcripts, residency updates, and test scores to update admissions status.
• Refer students to appropriate staff for disability services, counseling, financial aid, tutoring, etc.
• Liaise with other advisors, offices, and departments to support student success.
• Stay informed about admissions requirements, programs, deadlines, and policy changes.
