• Knowledge of intentional and proactive advising practices.

• Understand FERPA rules for release of information.
• Experience with MySanJac GPS for planning and audits.
• Know graduation requirements for future planning.
• Detail oriented to maintain accurate student records.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and maintain frequent contact with advisees and manage a caseload through the admissions process.
• Advise prospective students and families about admissions, testing, orientation, transcripts, and required documents.
• Input immunization records, transcripts, residency updates, and test scores to update admissions status.
• Refer students to appropriate services such as disability, counseling, financial aid, tutoring, etc.
• Serve as a liaison with other advisors and campus offices.
• Stay updated on admissions requirements, programs, deadlines, and state/federal mandates.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
