Job summary

Lone Star College in Houston, TX seeks a part-time PT Advisor II to serve as the first point of contact for students, advising and tracking academic progress toward degree completion.

You will provide guidance on degree requirements, course selection, enrollment, and scheduling, educate students on policies and state and federal rules, and collaborate with internal and external partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of experience in higher education or related advising role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with diverse student populations.
• Familiarity with policies and regulations governing higher education and student services.

Responsibilities

• Advise students individually on degree planning, course selection, and enrollment.
• Assist students in creating their educational plans and course sequences.
• Monitor and report progress on cohorts to support retention and completion rates.
• Coordinate with other departments to schedule transfer events and resources for students.
