Goodwin Recruiting is seeking a Part-Time Accounts Receivable Specialist to support a growing commercial cleaning company from a remote home office. The role offers up to 20 hours per week, with standard 9:00am–5:00pm Eastern time availability, and a focus on AR follow-up, reconciliations, and client communications.

You will work with QuickBooks Online or Xero and Excel, manage past-due balances, and help maintain accurate aging reports while collaborating with leadership during peak periods.

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years in accounting, AR, collections, and reconciliations.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and/or Xero; strong Excel skills.
• Proven ability to manage past-due accounts and reconcile ledgers.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with client interactions.
• Ability to work independently from a home office; ET hours.

Responsibilities

• Proactively follow up on overdue accounts by phone and email.
• Perform monthly AR reconciliations and match payments to balances.
• Maintain AR aging reports and identify discrepancies.
• Communicate with client accounting departments to resolve issues.
• Collaborate internally to resolve blockers and escalate when needed.
• Support sales tax tracking and remittances linked to accounts.

Accounts Receivable Specialist Requirements & Qualifications

• 2–4+ years of hands-on experience in accounting, accounts receivable, collections, payment follow-up, and AR reconciliation
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and/or Xero, and strong Microsoft Excel skills
• Proven ability to manage past-due accounts, secure payment commitments, and reconcile monthly AR ledgers
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with high emotional intelligence for professional client interactions
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and self-motivation to work independently
• Dedicated home office space and ability to work remotely based on Eastern time zone.
