Job summary

Pensacola State College seeks a Part-time Accommodations Specialist to support the ADA Services office. You will assess accommodation needs, prepare accessible materials, and assist with testing accommodations across campus. Travel to multiple locations may be required.

You will also help with electronic documents, staff training on assistive technology, and privacy-compliant record keeping, ensuring excellent service to students and faculty.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid driver’s license conveyed.
• Successful results of a criminal background check required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake appointments to determine accommodation needs for students with disabilities.
• Prepare specialized accommodation materials, including printing or enlarging textbooks, and convert to accessible formats.
• Assist with accessible electronic documents and College website materials.
• Proctor, read, and scribe for accommodated testing; travel to other College locations as needed.
• Coordinate scheduling of accommodated testing and communicate with faculty about materials and accommodations.
• Assist students and faculty in resolving accommodation-related issues.
• Provide technical assistance to faculty and staff on approved accommodations and accessibility practices.
• Offer basic training to students on assistive technology and accessibility software.
• Ensure scanned documents meet legibility and file quality standards.
• Handle education-related documents in compliance with FERPA and privacy laws.
• Maintain confidential records of student contacts and testing services.
