Job summary

The College of Southern Nevada is seeking a part-time instructor for ABE Math – FY 2027 in the Las Vegas Valley. Responsibilities include teaching HSE/GED/HiSET math prep, maintaining records, and supporting program goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Mathematics, Literacy, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience teaching basic through intermediate level math, or High School Equivalent testing preparation.
• Ability to teach in hybrid online/in-person environments.

Responsibilities

• Teach Basic Skills, Pre-HSE, and HSE math preparation.
• Maintain student records, including syllabi, attendance, and weekly lesson plans.
• Motivate students to complete educational goals beyond basic education.
• Collaborate with colleagues regarding course offerings, programs, and activities.
• Adhere to prescribed curriculum and standards; use varied teaching techniques.
• Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft and Google Suite.
• Work effectively with a diverse population and manage time well.
• Monitor student progress using TABE, CASAS, Aztec, and WorkKeys portals.
