Job summary

CSN's Adult Basic Education instructors prepare adult learners from beginning to advanced levels of literacy and numeracy proficiency in preparation for the High School Equivalency (HSE) exam and post-secondary pursuits. Classes integrate classroom instruction, online learning, and workplace skills across the Las Vegas Valley.

This part-time, non-tenure-track role supports a flexible schedule with 8‑10 week terms and evening sessions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Experience teaching Basic through intermediate level math, reading, writing or HSE testing preparation.
• Teaching certification: Adult Education, TESOL, K‑12 (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Teach Basic Skills, Pre‑HSE, and HSE preparation.
• Teach HSE/GED/HiSET preparation: reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Maintain and submit accurate student records (syllabi, attendance, lesson plans).
• Use and develop a variety of teaching techniques and assessments to support the program.
• Adhere to prescribed curriculum and standards; participate in professional development.
