Job summary

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) seeks an experienced Part-Time Instructor to teach ABE ESL for FY 2027. The role supports ESLBasic Skills and civic engagement, emphasizing diverse learners and blended formats across the Las Vegas Valley.

Requirements include a Bachelor's Degree and prior ESL teaching experience from Basic to advanced levels; TESOL/Adult Education certs are preferred. Salary ranges $23.00–$30.00 per hour for a program of 8–10 weeks with 3–4 classes weekly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university.
• Experience teaching ESL students from Basic through advanced level.

Responsibilities

• Teach ESL Basic Skills and/or civic engagement methods.
• Cover listening, reading, writing, and communicative grammar.
• Deliver workplace skills instruction and manage student records.
• Motivate students to complete educational goals and adhere to curriculum standards.
• Communicate with colleagues to enhance program offerings; attend staff meetings.
• Develop and use diverse teaching techniques and assessments.
• Utilize Microsoft and Google Suite and educational technology.
• Monitor student progress with TABE, CASAS, Aztec, and WorkKeys portals.
