Job summary

Gaston County Government's Parks & Recreation Department is seeking an energetic coordinator to help plan, promote, and run senior-focused programs and events at county parks and senior centers.

You will work with the Recreation Coordinator and Marketing & Special Events Coordinator to develop promotional materials, coordinate logistics, manage facility reservations, and support daily operations while delivering excellent guest experiences.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• One year related work experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook; Canva experience; basic graphic design, photography, and social media skills; ability to lift 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, logistics and on-day event execution for Senior Games, Recreation Programs and Special Events at County Parks and Senior Center.
• Create promotional content for Parks & Recreation and Senior Center materials; order branded merchandise.
• Support Administrative Coordinator with facility reservations, weekly schedules, access requests, inventory and digital sign listings.
• Contribute to seamless operations, events and programs to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Participate in community, departmental and inter-departmental events and meetings to advance Parks & Recreation goals.
• Other duties as assigned.
