Job summary

Columbus Consolidated Government seeks a Parks Maintenance Worker to perform field preparation, equipment maintenance, and site setup for community events. Responsibilities include mowing, edging, installing bleachers, repairing grills, and maintaining park facilities.

The role requires a valid driver's license and ability to operate hand and power tools. Experience in park maintenance or related fields is valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience through apprenticeship/internship or 1–2 years in park maintenance roles.
• Valid driver''s license; CDL ability may be required for certain vehicles.
• Knowledge of park maintenance methods and equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Place fences and set up stages and equipment for events.
• Mow grass, edge, weed-eat, and blow leaves.
• Assemble bleachers, benches and trash cans; install grills.
• Prepare sports fields for games; adjust goal posts for appropriate width.
• Inspect and maintain playground equipment; operate hand/power tools.
