Job summary

Columbus Consolidated Government is seeking a parks maintenance worker to support city facilities and outdoor spaces. You will place fences for events, mow grass, and operate tools and equipment to keep parks clean and safe.

The role requires basic math and reading skills, a valid driver’s license, and some experience or apprenticeship in park maintenance. Work includes outdoor duties and performing janitorial tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Requires high school education or equivalent with a practical understanding from apprenticeship/internship or 1–2 years in a similar role.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Place fences at events and set up stages, podiums, flags, and stairs.
• Mow grass, operate a weedeater, edge grass, and blow leaves.
• May order parts and supplies; transport parts and equipment to sites; maintain tools and equipment.
• Drive city vehicles for deliveries/transportation.
• Record and maintain chemical balance in pools.
• Perform janitorial duties as needed.
