Job summary

The Grove City Parks and Recreation department is seeking a part-time Seasonal Parks Maintenance Service Laborer to help maintain parks, athletic fields, and facilities. Responsibilities include mowing, landscaping, field prep, equipment operation, and ensuring spaces are safe and welcoming for community use.

Ideal candidates will be at least 18, have a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid Ohio driver’s license, and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Must demonstrate reliable and predictable attendance.
• Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license and remain insurable under the City's vehicle insurance policy.
• The City of Grove City is a Drug Free Workplace. All candidates who receive an offer of employment will be required to undergo testing for commonly used drugs, including marijuana.

Responsibilities

• Supports department operations by assisting with maintenance, mowing, landscaping, field preparation, and general upkeep of parks and facilities.
• Operates and maintains equipment and tools safely; ensures facilities and athletic fields are prepared for programs and events.
• Creates a safe, inclusive, and positive environment while upholding OSHA safety standards.
• Provides excellent customer service and responds to basic public questions and concerns.
• Monitors facility use and work areas and communicates with supervisors and coworkers.
• Maintains clean, organized spaces, supplies, equipment, and work sites; follows all city procedures.
