Job summary

Columbus Consolidated Government seeks a Maintenance Worker responsible for the upkeep of city pools and related facilities. The role includes setting up event infrastructure, mowing and grounds work, and handling materials transport and tool maintenance.

Candidate should be able to manage pool chemical balances, perform janitorial duties, and execute other duties as assigned. A valid driver’s license and a background in park maintenance are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Apprenticeship/internship or similar position experience preferred (1–2 years).
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and upkeep of pools.
• Set up fences, stages, podiums, flags, and stairs for special events.
• Mow grass, operate a weedeater, edge grass, and blow leaves.
• May order parts and supplies; transport parts and equipment to work sites; maintain tools and equipment.
• Drive city vehicles for deliveries/transportation.
• Record and maintain chemical balance in pools.
• Perform janitorial duties as needed.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
