Job summary

Metropolis Technologies seeks a Parking Enforcement Officer to monitor designated areas and ensure compliance with parking policies. You will issue citations, assist in revenue collection, and support event and permit-related activities while working with independence and professional judgment.

This role requires the ability to operate a vehicle, work in all weather, and maintain a courteous, tactful approach with the public. Training and safety are emphasized throughout daily duties.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of geography of the enforced area.
• Knowledge of hazards and safety precautions.
• Ability to use a handheld computer.
• Ability to operate a motorized vehicle or bicycle.
• Ability to understand and apply parking regulations.
• Ability to interact with others in a courteous and tactful manner.
• Ability to walk for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Must be 18 years of age or older at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Monitor streets, lots, garages, and campuses to enforce parking policies.
• Provide customer service by answering questions about directions, events, and policies.
• Issue citations and warnings for non-compliance; impound, boot, or relocate vehicles as directed.
• Work alone with sound judgment and diplomacy in dealing with people.
• Assist maintenance staff with parking equipment and facility upkeep.
• Assist in collecting and securing revenues from meters and devices.
• Support event staff with parking-related activities and access control.
• Handle permit sales data entry and frontline customer service during peak seasons.
• Other duties as assigned; this role is not a sworn police position.
