Job summary

The City of Santa Rosa is seeking a self-motivated Parking Enforcement Officer to patrol city streets, issue citations, and enforce local and state parking laws. This temporary, non-benefited role may include evening, weekend, and holiday shifts.

These positions are temporary appointments with no benefits, designed to meet operational needs. The ideal candidate will work independently, maintain records, and provide excellent public service while supporting parking enforcement objectives.

Qualifications

• Experience involving public contact and independent decision making (1 year is typical).
• Ability to understand, interpret, apply and enforce regulations.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with customer service focus.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned route on foot and/or driving a parking enforcement vehicle.
• Inspect and operate vehicles used to patrol parking areas.
• Identify vehicles in violation and issue citations.
• Explain code and policy requirements.
• Provide information to diverse population regarding program area.
