Job Summary

The Parking Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and administration for department operations. Audits current procedures to monitor and improve efficiency of operations.

  • Manages, supports and provides direction to Parking & Transportation team members and assists in the development of program policies, procedures, assessments and evaluations. Ensures the control process of data systems are met. Monitors and measures service metrics and utilizes data to develop standards, improvements and changes to process.
  • Provides guidance and support to front line team members.
  • Assists with procedure development and ensures adherence in operations. Ensures that customer satisfaction is maximized by maintaining the highest level of service thresholds and initiatives that are aligned with the FIU Parking and Transportation Services standard.
  • Manages and coordinates operational staffing needs for projects and assignments.
  • Serves as a liaison between the various departments of FIU to support the department's initiatives
  • Plans and directs operations improve productivity and efficiency and ensure staff coverage. Trains, supervises, and evaluates parking staff to ensure high performance and adherence to service standards. Conducts periodic evaluations to assess system functionality and customer satisfaction. Collaborates with university leadership on strategic initiatives to enhance transportation and parking services.
  • Performs essential duties in any emergencies such as hurricanes, public health emergencies, and/or any other university emergency closing. The employee is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closing with appropriate notification of a department administrator.
  • Performs other related duties as required or as directed. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
  • Oversees on-demand, shuttles and golf cart transportation services, coordinate with technology vendors and service providers to enhance user experience and system integration.
  • Manages and optimizes parking management software for permitting and enforcement, analyzing system data to identify trends, enhance operational efficiency, and implement necessary improvements. Works with IT and vendors to resolve system issues, implement upgrades, and maintain cybersecurity protocols. Trains staff in software functionalities and best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and four (4) years of related experience; OR eight (8) years of related experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.
