Job summary

City of Detroit, Department of Transportation, seeks a Dispatcher I for paratransit operations. You will schedule and route vehicles, dispatch drivers, and maintain communications to ensure on-time service for seniors and individuals with disabilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of experience in dispatch environment or related field.
• Knowledge of ADA and paratransit rules and regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and route paratransit vehicles for seniors and disabled individuals.
• Enter dispatch data into scheduling software and complete dispatch calls.
• Notify appropriate parties in the event of accidents or incidents.
• Monitor radios and maintain driver communications for scheduling issues.
• Assign drivers and vehicles to trips and maintain schedules.
• Assist with daily and monthly reports, logs, and trip data entry.
