Job summary

Royal Oak is seeking a Part Time Van Dispatcher to oversee senior van scheduling, routing and dispatch duties. The role uses two-way radio, telephones, a computer mobile dispatch terminal, and scheduling systems to create, maintain, and monitor driver schedules while responding to service requests.

The candidate will schedule residents, monitor voicemail, organize monthly driver calendars, maintain client preferences in software, and transmit daily schedules to drivers.

Responsibilities

• Receive calls from residents to schedule rides.
• Monitors voicemail for calls received throughout the day and after hours.
• Provide information to new residents interested in the ride program.
• Organize a monthly schedule of drivers, buses, and holidays.
• Maintain a client list of their preferences and/or accommodations on transportation software.
• Create daily schedules in the transportation software based on the request spreadsheet and transmit to driver iPad.
• Schedule those clients with appointment times appropriately in transportation software.
• Maintain files of weekly and monthly reports.
• Enter data into SMART weekly and monthly reports.
• Enjoy working with and assisting senior citizens.
• Maintain addresses and hours of certain popular location requests in transportation software.
• Work with the Senior Center Coordinator for any special events requests.
• Perform other duties as assigned

APart Time Van Dispatcher oversees senior van scheduling, routing and dispatching duties; operates a variety of communication equipment, including two-way radio, telephone, computer mobile dispatch terminal and scheduling systems; creates, maintains and monitors computerized driver schedules; and responds to requests for service.APart Time Van Dispatchermay be called upon to do any or all of the following: (These examples do not include all of the tasks which the employee may be expected to perform.)

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• A valid Michigan chauffeur’s license
• Special consideration will be given to candidates with experience as a Dispatcher
