Job summary

De Soto Unified School Dist is seeking a Center-Based Paraprofessional for Mill Creek Middle School for the 2026-2027 school year. You will assist in implementing intensive instructional programs and daily living/behavioral skills, with some medical care under a licensed nurse's direction.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, TB test, and background check; experience with children is preferred. Work is 7.5 hours/day, 174 days/year with a starting wage of $17.50/hour.

Position Function

The Center-Based Paraprofessional assists in the implementation of intensive instructional programs, including assisting with daily living and behavioral skills, and sometimes providing medical care under the direction of a licensed nurse.

Qualifications Profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with children, preferred
• Current Certification of Health, including negative TB test
• Completion of clear, criminal background check

Starting Salary

$17.50/hour - commensurate with experience

Requirements

• All employees must have a current TB test (Tuberculosis). If you've had a recent TB Test (less than 12 months ago) we can accept a copy of your test results. If it's been more than 1 year ago, you will be required to obtain a new test. Employees are responsible for the cost of the test.
• Must submit pre-employment physical prior to first day of work.
