Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a CAMS Designer II to develop 2D/3D CAD models using Creo Parametric and related software. You will review and configure designs, work with cross-functional teams, and support manufacturing with accurate design documentation.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, willingness to learn, and occasional travel to customer sites or training events, with a focus on field-based, on-site work.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Mechanical Design or related field.
• Basic knowledge of CAD and drafting principles.
• Knowledge of 3D CAD tools ( Creo Parametric, Inventor, Solidworks, Solid Edge ).
• Ability to read and interpret technical instructions, drawings, and schematics.
• Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Exposure to Boolean logic, rules-based modeling, or programming concepts.
• Computer science coursework or programming experience.
• MS Office, especially Excel formulas.

Responsibilities

• Use Creo Parametric to support rules-based, parametric CAD modeling.
• Apply Boolean logic and established design rules to configure product designs.
• Interpret engineering instructions, drawings, schematics, and related documentation.
• Produce design documentation using CAD and PLM systems.
• Review designs and orders for accuracy before release to manufacturing.
• Follow established drafting standards, design practices, and company procedures.
• Support portions of larger design projects and complete assigned tasks on time.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to deliver quality solutions.
• Continue building technical knowledge through training and development opportunities.
• Travel occasionally, as needed, to support products or training.
