Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, part of Takeda, seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support daily plasma collection operations in Springfield, MO. You will determine donor eligibility, manage adverse events, review laboratory results, and notify donors of unsuitable results under medical guidance.

You will work under Center Manager guidance and Center Physician medical oversight, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and BioLife/EHS policies while supporting vaccination

Qualifications

• Must be EMT-Paramedic licensed/certified in the state of responsibility.
• CPR and AED certification current.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or nursing program graduate.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education, confidentiality, and acceptance requirements.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and arrange medical transport if needed.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for medical/technical issues and donor safety guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS as needed.
• May serve as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations.
