Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Lenexa, KS is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. You will determine donor eligibility, review medical history, and monitor donor safety to ensure compliance with SOPs.

You will work under a Center Manager and Center Physician, support vaccination programs, address donor adverse events, and participate in environmental, health and safety initiatives as part of Takeda's BioLife team.

Qualifications

• Determine donor eligibility including informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing SPE.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and manage emergencies with standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance on medical/technical issues.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Assist with OSHA/EHS related incidents and pandemic coordination when authorized.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility and manage informed consent and donor history.

• Refer issues to Center Physician or Medical Affairs as needed.
• Support vaccination programs for staff and enforce safety protocols.
• Manage employee incidents with EHS guidance; assist pandemic response when authorized.
