Zusammenfassung

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, is seeking a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) at our Springfield, MO center to support donor screening, eligibility, and safety operations.

You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician to review lab results, manage donor adverse events, and ensure compliance with plasma collection regulations, while contributing to a patient-focused mission and safety culture.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-Paramedic
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification
• Fulfill state requirements (in state of licensure) for basic IV therapy
• Satisfactorily complete the FDA approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Aufgaben

• Determine donor eligibility; include informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview and acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and manage medical emergencies including standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
• Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance on medical or technical issues, donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for further evaluation by occupational health/ER; refer to EHS guidance.
• Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemics in the local community.
