BioLife Plasma Services in Springfield, MO seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to determine donor eligibility, manage donor adverse events, review test results, and notify donors of unsuitable results. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician, following regulations and BioLife Medical Affairs guidance.

Ideal candidates have EMT-Paramedic licensure, CPR/AED, high school diploma or nursing education, and at least two years in a clinical setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with nursing program.
• EMT-Paramedic license? licensed or certified in state where responsibilities will be assigned.
• CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
• Complete FDA approved BioLife Medical Support Specialist training.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsabilités

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and SPE review.
• Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and facilitate medical emergencies with standing orders and donor transport to care facilities.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for abnormal findings or medical/technical guidance, including donor safety and eligibility.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
• Manage employee incidents and determine need for occupational health/ER evaluation; refer to EHS guidance.
• Potentially act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and assist investigations related to pandemics.

Formation

High school diploma or equivalent with nursing program

EMT-Paramedic license
