BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary, is seeking a Medical Support Specialist to support plasma center operations in Independence, MO. You will determine donor eligibility, review test results, manage donor safety, and coordinate with the Center Physician for medical issues in a fast-paced clinical setting.

You’ll also support vaccination programs, incident management, and EHS guidance while following SOPs and FDA training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent to including graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program
• Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-I, EMT-P, LPN/LVN, or RN
• CPR and AED certification; satisfy state requirements for basic IV therapy; FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist; two years in a clinical or hospital setting

Responsabilidades

• Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, and confidential self-exclusion; conduct medical history interview and acceptance requirements; perform physical examination and blood testing; review SPE results.
• Evaluate donor reaction(s) following SOPs and arrange medical/emergency care per standing orders.
• Refer to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or medical/technical guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and coordinate with occupational health/EHS; act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized.
