Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services, a Takeda subsidiary in Humble, TX, seeks a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to ensure donor eligibility, test review, and safety compliance. You will work under the Center Manager and Center Physician to support plasma collection operations and regulatory adherence.

You will apply medical screening, manage donor safety, and participate in environmental, health, and safety programs while coordinating with medical staff for complex cases.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent incl. nursing program with state requirements.
• Licensed or certified EMT-Paramedic in the responsible state.
• Current CPR and AED certification.
• Fulfill state IV therapy requirements where applicable.
• Complete FDA training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
• Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Determine donor eligibility with informed consent, medical history, and tests.
• Evaluate donor reactions following SOPs and arrange emergency care as needed.
• Refer uncertain findings to Center Physician or Medical Affairs for guidance.
• Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
• Manage employee incidents and escalate to occupational health/EHS as required.
• Possibly act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS/Medical Affairs.
