Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools seeks a Special Program Paraeducator 1 for Intensive Academic Classroom to support students in a one‑on‑one setting. The role is 6.5 hours per day, five days a week, across a nine‑month academic year, with non‑exempt status and opportunities to contribute to instructional goals.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, plus postsecondary credits or an ETS ParaPro score. Experience with students with disabilities and strong teamwork skills are preferred for

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required with one of the listed postsecondary credentials.
• Official transcripts or ETS ParaPro results must be provided with the application.
• Experience in education and collaboration with an educational team is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with implementing goals and IEP objectives.
• Support students one‑on‑one and in small groups during activities.
• De‑escalate student crises and follow district behavior plans.
• Observe and report student progress and maintain records.
• Assist with materials preparation and data entry as directed.
