Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools in Washington state seeks a Special Program Paraeducator 2 for the Integrated Communication & Sensory Program. This is a one-on-one, 6.5‑hour day position for 9 months, with non-exempt status.

The role supports students with disabilities, collaborates with teachers, and requires dependability, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to follow CPI de-escalation training. The position involves assisting with instructional activities and data collection throughout the

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or 72 quarter/48 semester credits or ETS ParaPro 461+.
• One year of related experience preferred.
• Experience in educational setting and teamwork preferred.
• Ability to work with children with disabilities and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher with implementing goals and objectives on individual student IEPs.
• Monitor and collect data as directed by the teacher.
• Prepare materials and maintain data records.
• Assist with behavior management plans and de-escalation.
• Provide one-on-one or small-group support for students.
• Attend training meetings to broaden expertise in working with students with special needs.
