The role requires adherence to district policies and safe student handling practices. Qualifications emphasize a high school diploma or GED with additional education or ParaPro assessment, plus experience with children in educational settings.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED with additional higher education or assessment options.
• Associates degree or adequate college credits (72 quarter / 48 semester) or ParaPro score 461+ are acceptable alternatives.
• One year of related experience with children in education preferred.
• Experience as part of an educational team preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, problem solving and conflict resolution skills; ability to work in a team with teachers and staff.
• Experience with children with moderate to severe disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional assistance and support to the teacher in individual or small group settings.
• Assist with implementing and evaluating IEP goals and objectives.
• Support student behavior management and de-escalation as directed by certificated staff.
• Assist with classroom materials preparation and data recording.
• Follow district policies for health, safety and confidentiality.
• Perform other duties assigned by administration.
