Job summary

Vancouver Public Schools is seeking a Special Program Paraeducator 2 for the Integrated Communication & Sensory Program. This one-on-one, 3 hours/day position supports students with disabilities, requiring a high school diploma or GED plus possible further education or ParaPro results.

Responsibilities include assisting the teacher with goals and IEPs, data collection, behavior support, and instructional tasks across academic and life skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with documentation
• Associate degree or credits or ParaPro 461+ as alternative
• 1 year of related experience preferred
• Experience in educational team recommended
• Ability to work with diverse students with disabilities
• Strong problem solving and conflict resolution skills

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in implementing goals and IEPs
• Monitor data collection and student progress
• Support student behavior management under certificated staff
• Provide instructional assistance in various subject areas
• Attend team meetings for input and information
• Support students with self regulation and sensory needs
• Prepare teaching materials and maintain records
• Safely supervise students during transitions and activities
