Grand Hyatt San Francisco is seeking a Pantry Cook Extra to support cold food preparation and pantry station operations, with a focus on salads, garnishes, and desserts. This hourly role offers exposure to a luxury hotel kitchen in Union Square.

You will set up the pantry, follow recipes, maintain mise en place, and ensure food safety and presentation. The position requires teamwork, punctuality, and the ability to work flexible hours, including weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in pantry, prep cook, line cook, or hotel/food service preferred.
• Basic knowledge of cold food preparation and knife skills.
• Ability to read recipes, production lists, and follow instructions.
• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, food quality and presentation.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Food handler certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, mornings and evenings.
• Ability to follow procedures and work as required by the union.

Responsabilités

• Prepare pantry and cold food items according to recipes and standards.
• Set up, stock, and maintain the pantry workstation for service.
• Follow recipes, prep lists, and production sheets.
• Ensure items are fresh, properly portioned, and timely.
• Assist with kitchen operations across restaurant, banquet, and in-room dining.
• Label, date, store, and rotate food per safety procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations and equipment.
• Communicate shortages or issues to culinary leadership.
• Complete opening/closing and side work duties.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
