Job summary

PAE is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team in one of our local offices, including Portland, OR. The 10–12 week paid internship provides hands-on experience in sustainable engineering design and building systems technology, from design through construction administration.

You will work on CAD/Revit modeling, energy analyses, and HVAC/plumbing design tasks, gaining exposure to Living Building projects and a collaborative design process with experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• 3rd year undergraduate student preferred.
• Effective communicator with a passion for sustainable design.
• Interest in building design and mechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• CAD and Revit modeling for building systems.
• Energy modeling and design calculations.
• HVAC ductwork, hydronic, and plumbing layout.
• Construction administration and site visits.
• Weather and climate data gathering; assist with energy and water analyses.
• Support on project timelines and M/E coordination.
