Job summary

PAE is seeking a motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team at one of our local offices in Denver, CO. The program runs 10 to 12 weeks and offers hands‑on experience in sustainable engineering design within building systems.

You will work with mechanical, plumbing, and electrical design teams, gaining exposure to CAD, Revit, energy modeling, and design calculations, while learning the PAE and LUMA approach to project delivery.

Qualifications

• 3rd year undergraduate student preferred.
• Desire to work in the Building Design industry.
• Passionate about sustainable design solutions.
• Effective communicator.
• Mechanical Coursework: Thermodynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Heat Transfer, Building Sciences.

Responsibilities

• Assist with CAD and Revit drafting and modeling.
• Support energy modeling and design calculations.
• Contribute to HVAC, hydronic, and plumbing design layouts.
• Assist site visits, construction administration, and commissioning.
• Gather weather/climate data and support energy/water data analysis.
