Job summary

Capital District Physicians Health Plan Inc is offering a 10-week paid Summer College Internship Program for undergraduate and graduate students. Interns work on meaningful projects, are mentored by managers, and attend development workshops focused on key business concepts across multiple tracks.

Interns may develop code for test automation, create synthetic data, participate in reviews and documentation, and deliver final presentations while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Desire Majors/Degree Programs include Computing Sciences & Information Technology or Mathematics & Data Science or similar programs.
• Preferred (but not required) experience with object oriented programming and knowledge of Java, Python, VBScript, SQL, Agile methodologies, software testing.
• High School diploma with proof of continuous college enrollment (enrolled in a full-time undergrad or grad program).
• Must be in good academic standing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in a team and establish good working relationships.
• Demonstrates organizational, analytical, problem-solving and prioritization skills.
• Proactive, creative, flexible in completing tasks.
• Commitment to continuous improvement of skills and team functioning.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and in teams.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

• Code development for test automation and managing test artifacts.
• Synthetic data creation using in-house tools.
• Code reviews, requirements reviews, and documentation.
• Work with a mentor and support key strategic projects.
• Complete work assignments based on business needs and priorities.
• Perform a mix of technical and non-technical tasks across projects.
• Create and deliver presentations at internship completion.
• Maintain confidentiality and protect member privacy per policy.
• Regular and reliable attendance is expected.
• Perform other functions as assigned by management.
