Job summary

Austin Bridge & Road, a leader in heavy highway and transportation construction, seeks a 2027 Summer Heavy Civil Engineering Intern. You will gain hands-on, real-world experience on active projects under seasoned professionals and will be assigned to a supervising project team in the Dallas/Fort Worth/North Texas area.

The internship is a paid 12-week program starting May 17, 2027, running through August 6, 2027.

Qualifications

• Must be an active junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar.
• Targeted graduation date between December 2027 and December 2028.
• Must be able to work up to 40 hours per week; hours will vary with project schedule.
• Must be able to commute onsite to the assigned location.
• Valid driver's license and ability to legally work in the United States (no visa sponsorship).

Responsibilities

• Process submittals by reviewing, stamping, filing, and distributing submittals.
• Send RFI’s to architects and engineers.
• Assist with project planning, scheduling, and look-ahead schedules.
• Support documentation and reporting to ensure accurate project records.
• Participate in weekly safety meetings and team meetings.
