Job summary

Southland Industries is seeking interns and new college graduates to support Occupational Health and Safety across HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection projects. You will assist the Safety Manager in enforcing safety procedures and coordinating activities on site.

You will build hands-on experience with field teams, learn OSHA requirements, and participate in safety programs. This program aims to prepare you for future opportunities, with potential for full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree aligned with Southland needs: Occupational Health and Safety.
• Working knowledge of construction safety practices and the ability to learn more about safety and loss management.
• You will work directly with Southland's field employees in a professional manner.
• Understand and communicate OSHA regulations and safety health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all tasks on project sites are performed safely per policies and OSHA standards.
• Help implement the Corporate Safety Award Program.
• Distribute certification cards for industrial training and maintain records.
• Report and manage all company vehicle claims.
• Assist in reporting workers' compensation claims.
• Update MSDS manual and safety materials.
