Job summary

Geisinger Healthplex State College is offering a paid MA to CMA training pathway in outpatient settings. Trainees will learn essential patient care duties, vital signs, medication administration within scope, and charting in the EMR under supervision.

Qualifications

• GED or High school diploma required.
• Training to perform patient care tasks under supervision.
• Ability to document patient information accurately in EMR.

Responsibilities

• Train to take vital signs, weight measurement, assist patient mobility.
• Assist with medications per scope of practice based on clinic location.
• Support setting up for minor procedures and gathering supplies.
• Document patient information using the EMR rooming tool.
• Complete data gathering including medical histories and medication review.
• Assist providers during examinations and patient interactions.
• Reinforce patient instructions to support treatment plans.
• Prepare lab specimens and related paperwork.
• Clean and prepare exam rooms between patients.
