Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Training focuses on skills for certified medical assistants in outpatient settings.
• Includes didactic learning and clinical rotations under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Learn to take vital signs, assist with patient mobility and examinations.
• Assist providers with minor procedures and prepare exam rooms.
• Document patient information accurately in the EMR.
• Gather medical histories, medications and family history.
• Support patients and reinforce treatment plans.
• Prepare and collect lab specimens and manage related paperwork.
