Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps member is an entry-level, full-time role focused on coaching and mentoring students across elementary to high school levels. You will plan and monitor student progress, collaborate with teachers, and contribute to school-wide initiatives to boost attendance and academic success.

The position includes training at start, 2–4 weeks, and access to City Year benefits and AmeriCorps education rewards. Start date in July/August 2025, with location-based requirements.

Qualifications

• Coaching and mentoring students in grades K-12.
• Interpersonal development support for students.
• Develop literacy and math skills through varied activities.
• Create and implement behavior management strategies.
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress in City Year data system.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Develop literacy and/or math activities and supervise assignments.
• Create and implement behavior management system for students.
• Collaborate with teachers and team members to track progress in data system.
• Create an engaging, safe classroom space with teachers.
• Support extended day and virtual programming for students.
