Job summary
The Davey Tree Expert Company invites students to join our Arborist Trainee Internship in Concord, MA. This on-site program runs Spring–Summer 2027, offering hands-on field experience beside seasoned arborists, climbers, and landscape teams to deliver exceptional client service and sustain tree and landscape health.
Expect 40–50 hours per week, Monday–Friday with some Saturdays. Pay ranges from $22 to $23 per hour.
Qualifications
- Studying Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Natural Resources, Horticulture, Landscape Design, Forestry or related discipline
- Driver’s license required. Commercial driver’s license a plus
- Enthusiasm for proper plant care and arboriculture
- Love of the Outdoors!
Responsibilities
- Learn to be a tree doctor by working in the field with experienced Arborists, Climbers and Plant Health Care technicians
- Perform tree pruning, removing, cabling, bracing and maintenance
- Assist with Tree & Landscape Installation and equipment operation
- Engage in Plant Health Care tasks including soil care and disease management
- Support daily field Operations and client service in a residential setting
- Develop basic sales, management, and leadership fundamentals
