Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is offering an Arborist Trainee Internship in the Danvers, MA area. The program provides hands-on field experience alongside seasoned arborists and plant health care professionals, starting Spring–Summer 2027.

Hours are 40–50 per week, Monday–Friday with some Saturdays. Compensation is $22–$23 per hour, with training, safety gear, and opportunities for career development throughout the internship.

Qualifications

• Must have enthusiasm for proper plant care and arboriculture.
• Love of the outdoors and a positive attitude.
• Willingness to learn and report to work regularly and punctually.

Responsibilities

• Learn to be a tree doctor and work in the field side-by-side with experienced Arborists, Climbers and Plant Health Care technicians.
• Perform tree pruning, removing, cabling, bracing and maintenance.
• Assist with Tree & Landscape Installation and safe operation of equipment (chainsaws, chippers, etc.).
• Support Plant Health Care activities including deep root fertilization and soil care.
• Gain exposure to daily operations and business components of a residential tree care office.
