Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in North Royalton, OH is offering an Arborist Trainee Internship beginning in Spring-Summer 2027. This field-based internship provides hands-on experience alongside seasoned arborists, climbers, and plant health care professionals to deliver client service and maintain tree and landscape health.

Hours are 40-50 per week, Monday to Friday with some Saturdays; compensation is $22-$23 per hour.

Qualifications

• Enthusiasm for proper plant care and arboriculture.
• Love of the outdoors and willingness to learn.
• Punctual and reliable attendance.
• Ability to report to work regularly and punctually.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Current study in arboriculture or related field; driver’s license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Tree pruning, removal, cabling, bracing and maintenance.
• Tree & landscape installation work.
• Safe operation of field equipment (chainsaws, chippers, etc.).
• Plant health care tasks including deep root fertilization and pest/disease management.
• Exposure to daily operations and business components of a residential tree care office.
• Develop client service, sales, management and leadership fundamentals.
