Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company in Englewood, CO is seeking Summer 2027 Arborist Trainee Interns to gain hands-on experience in tree care, plant health care, sales and client services. Starting date is flexible for Summer 2027, full-time internship for college students on summer break.

Rate of pay is $22.00 hourly. Work is on-site with a focus on safety and skill-building, offering opportunities for advancement within a large employee-owned company.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and be paid to do so.
• Operate as a member of a tree crew while learning new skills.
• Perform pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Learn to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts, etc.).
• Grow professionally through hands-on field experience.
