Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is offering a Summer 2027 Arborist Trainee Internship in Boulder, CO. The role is a temporary, full-time opportunity ideal for college students on summer break to gain hands-on experience in tree care, plant health care, sales and client services.

Starting date is flexible; rate of pay is $22.00 per hour. You will work on a tree crew and receive comprehensive safety training and real field experience.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors is essential.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights is preferred.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred pesticides licenses/certificates if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and join a tree crew.
• Learn tree pruning and removal skills safely for clients.
• Learn to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment (chainsaws, chippers, aerial lifts).
• Grow capabilities with the team; your growth depends on effort.
