Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is offering a Summer 2027 Arborist Trainee Internship in Denver, CO. This full-time, on-site internship invites college students to gain hands-on experience in tree care, health care and client services while learning field skills.

Starting summer 2027 with a $22.00 hourly rate, interns will join a safety-focused crew and receive equipment and safety training, with opportunities for advancement and professional development within a large employee-owned organization.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping or working at heights.
• Complete Davey Tree Orientation Program on hire.
• Complete Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving on hire.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and work as part of a tree crew.
• Progressively learn new skills in pruning, removal and client services.
• Perform pruning and removal with safety and skill.
• Learn to install cables, bracing and lightning protection systems.
• Maintain and operate tools and equipment such as chainsaws and chippers.
