Job summary

The Davey Tree Expert Company is seeking an Arborist Trainee Internship for Summer 2027 in Englewood, CO. This temporary, full-time internship invites college students to gain hands-on experience in tree care, plant health care, sales and client services.

Starting date is flexible; rate of pay is $22.00 hourly. You will climb trees, work on a crew, and learn pruning, removal, and safety techniques, including installing cables and safety systems.

Qualifications

• Love of the outdoors.
• Preferred: Background in Forestry, Horticulture, Landscaping, or working at heights.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree Trimmer Orientation Program upon hire.
• Ability to complete the Davey Tree First Aid, CPR and defensive driving course upon hire.
• Preferred: Relevant pesticide and related licenses and certificates, if required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Learn to climb trees and work on a tree crew.
• Learn to perform pruning and removal services safely and skillfully for clients.
• Learn how to install cables, bracing, and lightning protection systems.
• Assist in removal of hazardous trees.
• Maintain, prepare and operate tools and equipment including chainsaws and chippers.
