Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students across elementary to high school levels, helping them achieve academic success, attendance, and positive behaviors. You’ll plan, monitor progress, and collaborate with teachers on in-class support.

2–4 weeks of initial training are provided. You’ll join with partner teachers and school staff to support extended day programs and school initiatives, with comprehensive benefits and a living stipend.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with authorization to work in the U.S.
• Be 17–25 by July 1, 2025
• Have a GED or high school diploma, some college, or college degree
• Have served no more than three AmeriCorps terms

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 or in small groups
• Develop literacy and math skills through varied activities
• Create and implement behavior management systems
• Collaborate with teachers to monitor student progress
• Support extended day and after-school programs
• Contribute to school-wide engagement initiatives
