Job summary

Southpoint Surgery Center is seeking a registered nurse to provide comprehensive perioperative care for patients from pediatrics through geriatrics. The role includes planning, implementing, and evaluating care, with supervision by management and coordination with a multi-disciplinary team in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

You will participate in discharge planning, ensure age-appropriate medication administration, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current North Carolina RN licensure required.
• BLS certification upon hire; ACLS/PALS to be obtained within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to plan, implement, evaluate, and adjust patient care.
• Collaborates on discharge planning with the care team.
• Applies age-specific standards in medications and procedures for adolescent to geriatric patients.
• Incorporates cultural and developmental needs into the plan of care.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and delegates tasks appropriately to staff.
• Documents patient care in the medical record per standards.
• Participates in performance-improvement activities and problem-solving teams.
• completes additional duties as needed and assigned.
