Job summary

Southpoint Surgery Center in Durham, NC, is seeking a Preop/PACU Registered Nurse for a full-time role. You will deliver comprehensive, safe perioperative nursing across the age continuum, from pediatric to geriatric, under minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current NC nursing license or compact multi-state license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required on hire.
• ACLS and PALS preferred; must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
• Minimum 1 year perioperative nursing experience; critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to plan, implement, evaluate and adjust patient care.
• Coordinates discharge planning with the care team.
• Applies age-specific standards for adolescent to geriatric patients during care and anesthesia.
• Provides supervision to team members when needed.
• Documents patient care in the medical record as per standards.
• Participates in performance improvement activities and problem-solving teams.
• Completes additional duties as needed.
